I overheard some people at work talking the other day. They were saying that buying a home is the smartest thing you can do. It’s a great investment.
Years ago I would have agreed. These days, I am not sure getting a home as an investment is a wise plan. Unless you can pay cash for it of course. Going into major debt for a home as an investment don’t seem very wise to me. Seems to me a home should be a safe place for you and your family to live. If it’s an investment and it tanks, and you are on the street, how smart is that?
