The entire purpose of the “older” laws was to give people in lots of debt a fresh start. The laws were humane (compared to biblical times where people were tossed into debtors prison until they can repay the debt).
But because the credit card companies essentially paid off congress and certain politicians, the new laws were passed. It’s much harder to get Bankruptcy now.
Yet another reason to stop using credit cards altogether.
Of course, if you’re a Christian, you still owe the debt, even if the judge says you don’t.
